Weather and time
This camera overlooks the small craft harbour of Saint Philip's, a Newfoundland community on Conception Bay. It looks across the wharf, a gravel yard and the slipway toward the open water of the bay.
Saint Philip's, part of the town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip's, lies on the eastern shore of Conception Bay on the Avalon Peninsula, a short drive from St. John's. The wharf and marina at Broad Cove were once a fishery marina and now serve mostly leisure boats, diving, sea kayaking and sailing. The town hosts an annual regatta that dates back to the 1870s.
In the frame, yellow-edged docks run along the water on the left, with a moored boat and orange buoys, while two small sheds stand on the gravel apron. Street lights and utility poles line the shore, and a long low headland closes the horizon across the bay.
