Mariscal Bombinhas, Santa Catarina Live Cam

Praia do Mariscal is one of the beaches on the Bombinhas peninsula, on the coast of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil. The camera looks over the car park and the sand from a restaurant across the road.

Bombinhas is small and seasonal to an extreme degree: fewer than twenty thousand people live here, and something like fifteen times that number arrive in January, which is why the parking in the picture is either empty or impossible.

The water is clear enough that the peninsula is the main diving base on this coast, with the Arvoredo marine reserve a few kilometres offshore. Mariscal faces east and takes enough swell to keep the surf schools in work.
