St. Louis Lambert Airport, MO Live Cam

Lambert airport spreads west of St Louis, in the state of Missouri, and this camera looks along the terminals and the runways. Tower radio traffic runs with the feed.

Air traffic control started here. In 1929 the field hired a man to stand on a wheelbarrow platform with a pair of signal flags and wave aircraft in and out, which is generally counted as the first air traffic control job anywhere.

The main terminal, four thin concrete shells finished in 1956, was the first of its kind and was copied at airports around the world, including the one the same architect went on to design in New York.
