Tree Lighting, South Lyon Live Cam

A crossroads in the small town of South Lyon carries this camera, west of Detroit in the state of Michigan. Traffic and the shopfronts around the junction fill the view.

The camera was put up for the town's Christmas tree lighting and stayed on afterwards, so for most of the year it shows an ordinary main street rather than an event.

The park a block west keeps a railway station of 1909 with a conical roof, known locally as the Witch's Hat, moved there when the line closed. It is the thing people photograph in a town otherwise given over to commuting.
