Osprey Nest, Sandpoint Live Cam

This webcam looks straight down into an osprey nest on a tall pole beside War Memorial Field in Sandpoint, Idaho. Below the platform of sticks lies a parking lot with a small building, planted beds and a strip of trees.

War Memorial Field is the lakeside sports ground of Sandpoint, on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille, the largest lake in Idaho. Ospreys nested on its light poles long before the camera appeared. During the 2020 renovation of the field, the nest was moved to its own pole near the boat ramp, closer to the water.

The camera sits just above the nest and points almost vertically down, so the woven sticks and the wooden crossbar fill most of the frame. From spring to late summer the ospreys lay eggs and raise chicks here; after they leave for the winter, the empty nest marks the change of seasons.
