Grand Forks Sky, Southwest View Live Cam

From the roof of Clifford Hall at the University of North Dakota, this camera looks southwest over the west side of Grand Forks. Most of the frame is open sky, with the BNSF rail line, a parking lot and the arched roof of the Alerus Center along the bottom.

Grand Forks lies in the Red River Valley, the floor of the former glacial Lake Agassiz and one of the flattest landscapes in North America. With little to block the horizon, cloud bands can be traced far across the plain. The Alerus Center, an arena and convention center with a hotel tower, hosts UND football games.

Of the cameras on this building, this one is aimed toward the junction of DeMers Avenue and 42nd Street. In 2026 it also shows crews lowering 42nd Street beneath new bridges for DeMers Avenue and the railway, with a crawler crane on site.
