Grand Forks Sky, East View Live Cam

Facing east from Clifford Hall, this camera shows a broad sky above the University of North Dakota campus in Grand Forks. A white radar dome stands in the foreground, and campus halls and dense tree canopy run toward a distant water tower.

Clifford Hall sits at the west end of the campus, and a research weather radar has operated from its roof since 1993. East of the university the city continues to the Red River, which separates Grand Forks from East Grand Forks, Minnesota. The valley around it is so flat that the sky takes up most of the picture.

Where the southwest camera on the same roof overlooks roads and a railway, this view stays over the main campus. In autumn the trees between the halls turn yellow and gold. After dark, street and parking lot lights trace the neighborhood below the horizon.
