Downtown Clayton, North Carolina Live Cam

Main Street in Clayton runs east from the old railway crossing through a block of low brick storefronts, in North Carolina. The webcam looks along the road toward the junction with Lombard Street.

Clayton is fifteen miles from Raleigh and has been one of the fastest-growing towns in the state for two decades. The reason is partly pharmaceutical: Novo Nordisk and Grifols both run large plants on the edge of town, and the workforce has pulled housing out into the surrounding farmland.

The old centre kept its scale through that growth. A farmers market runs beside the tracks, and the Neuse River trail passes north of town on its way toward Smithfield.
