Weather and time
Anchored sailboats scatter across the sheltered harbor of Coral Bay on the east side of Saint John, seen from a steep hillside above the village. The camera looks down at the waterfront road, colorful roofs and the shallow green water of the inner bay.
Coral Bay is a small settlement near the eastern end of Saint John, in the US Virgin Islands, and its calm harbor is an anchorage for visiting yachts. Beyond the rounded peninsula on the right lie the coves of Hurricane Hole, part of the Virgin Islands Coral Reef National Monument.
The camera looks down from the slope close above the village, so individual hulls, the road along the water and the houses can be picked out. A mangrove-fringed spit curls into the harbor from the north side, and dense green scrub fills the foreground.
