Los Muertos Beach, Mexico Live Cam

Los Muertos is the main town beach at Puerto Vallarta, on Banderas Bay in the state of Jalisco in Mexico. The webcam looks over a restaurant terrace and the sand.

The name means beach of the dead and comes from a story about a fight over silver, or about a cemetery, depending on who is telling it. The town has tried to rename it more than once and failed.

Puerto Vallarta was a village of a few thousand until a film crew arrived in 1963 to shoot in the next bay along. The press that followed the cast turned the place into a resort within a decade, and the pier at the end of this beach was rebuilt in 2013 with a mast shaped like a sail.
