Weather and time
Market Street meets Castro at the junction the webcam covers, above the Muni station and Harvey Milk Plaza in San Francisco. Historic streetcars turn round at the end of the F line here.
Harvey Milk kept a camera shop two blocks up Castro, was elected to the board of supervisors in 1977 and murdered at City Hall the following year. The plaza over the station entrance carries his name, and the flag on the pole above it has flown since 1997.
The F line cars are restored PCCs, each painted in the colours of a city that once ran them, working between here and Fisherman's Wharf. Twin Peaks Tavern on the corner was the first gay bar in the city to put plate glass on the street instead of covering it over.
