Casa Marina Resort Key West, Florida Live Cam

The Casa Marina looks onto the Atlantic side of Key West, and the webcam covers its pools, gardens and the beach beyond. The resort opened in 1920.

It was built by the company Henry Flagler had left behind, as the hotel at the end of the railway he ran out across the Keys. The line lasted fifteen years and was destroyed by a hurricane in 1935; the hotel outlived it.

The navy took the building twice, in the second world war and again during the Cuban missile crisis, when troops were quartered here ninety miles from Havana. The beach in front is one of the few sand beaches on an island otherwise ringed by rock.
