The tracks at Växlarevägen in Solna carry the main lines north out of Stockholm, and the webcam faces up them. Commuter trains, regional services and freight all pass this spot.

Solna is a separate municipality wedged inside the capital. The Karolinska Institute is here, the body that picks the Nobel laureate in medicine each October, and so is the national football stadium.

Everything heading north out of Stockholm funnels through a narrow set of tracks in this corridor, which is why the timetable is so dense and why a fault here delays trains as far away as Sundsvall.
