Moscow City River Live Cam

The Moskva bends past the southern industrial belt of the city, and the camera looks over it from a hotel. This is the Avtozavodskaya district, some way south of the centre.

The works that gave the district its name built lorries and cars for eighty years and closed in 2016. The site has been cleared and rebuilt as housing and offices, which is what most of the newer blocks in the picture are.

The river makes a long loop here around a peninsula that held factories, a stadium and a river port. It is locked and dredged the whole way through the city and carries barges and passenger boats from spring to autumn.
