Lyngberget, Sør-Varanger Live Cam

This fixed camera looks south-west from the Lyngberget hillside across Bøkfjorden to the town of Kirkenes. The frame shows the far waterfront, two small islets in the fjord and the opposite hills.

Lyngberget is a hill above the eastern shore of Bøkfjorden in Sør-Varanger, Finnmark, close to the Russian border. The camera stands on its western slope, roughly 90 metres above the water and about 4 km north-east of the centre of Kirkenes. The town lies on a peninsula on the opposite shore, and its harbour and port buildings stand out most.

Seen from across the water, the whole Kirkenes waterfront fits into one wide frame together with the fjord and the hills behind it. The view does not move, which makes the camera handy for following the weather and the changing light over Bøkfjorden.
