Gulf of Naples, Portici Live Cam

This camera looks north-west from Portici over the open water of the Gulf of Naples, with rock breakwaters in the foreground. The city of Naples stretches along the horizon on the right, and the low outline of an island rises on the left.

The Gulf of Naples is a wide bay on the Tyrrhenian Sea, in the region of Campania. Portici sits on its eastern shore, south-east of Naples and at the foot of Vesuvius, and the islands of Ischia and Procida lie out to the west of the city.

The frame is fixed and very wide, with the sea taking up the lower half and a broad sky above. Ships crossing the bay show up against the horizon, and the long line of the far shore stays in view. A second camera at the same place points the other way, towards Vesuvius.
