Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto carries this webcam northeast towards the Tyrrhenian Sea, on the northern coast of Sicily. Orchards and low houses fill the foreground, and the sea makes a flat line across the middle of the frame.

The town sits on a coastal plain between the Peloritani mountains and the sea, a few kilometres inland from the shore. On clear days the Aeolian Islands stand out on the horizon; Milazzo, the port for the ferries to them, is a short distance east.

The plain here is farmed for citrus and vegetables, which is what fills the near ground. Summer haze often erases the islands entirely, and the clearest air comes after rain.
