Giraffes, Szeged Zoo Live Cam

The giraffe paddock at Szeged Zoo takes up a sandy yard fenced with heavy timber, in Csongrád-Csanád County in southern Hungary. The camera looks down into it from a corner and usually has the whole group in frame.

Szeged Zoo is the largest in Hungary by area, spread over about forty-five hectares of planted pine forest on the northern edge of the city. It opened in 1989, late for a European zoo, which is why the enclosures are open ground rather than cages.

Adult males reach more than five metres, tall enough that the fence rails are irrelevant to them. Other animals share the sightline behind the paddock, and the herd moves between the yard and the house through the day.
