Budapest City, Hungary Live Cam

The Danube runs through the middle of Budapest with the Parliament on the far bank, in the capital of Hungary. The camera looks across the river from a hotel on the Buda side.

The Parliament was finished in 1902 and is still among the largest legislative buildings in the world, with 691 rooms, built at a scale meant for a country twice the size of the one that emerged twenty years later.

The suspension bridge upstream opened in 1849 and was the first permanent crossing between Buda and Pest. On the embankment below it stands a memorial of sixty pairs of iron shoes, for the people shot into the river in the winter of 1944.
