Weather and time
This fixed view looks south-east over the harbour and houses of Vágur on the east coast of Suðuroy island. A long breakwater, quayside buildings and the green slopes across the fjord fill the frame.
Vágur is a fishing town on the Vágsfjørður fjord, on Suðuroy, the southernmost island of the Faroe Islands. Its port lies on the north side of the fjord and serves a fishing fleet, a fish factory and a slipway. The town is first mentioned in records from 1350. In the foreground, houses with red, green and dark roofs step down the hillside toward the water.
The framing does not change, so the breakwater, harbour buildings and hills remain in place while light and cloud move over them. It faces down the fjord, the opposite way from the Vágur Town view, which looks west toward the head of the fjord.
