Revelstoke is a Canadian Pacific division point in the Columbia Mountains, where the Shuswap Subdivision from the west meets the Mountain Subdivision, which climbs east toward Rogers Pass. The museum stands right beside the main line and keeps railway equipment and exhibits from the town's history.

The main position shows the crossing signals in the foreground, a wide street with traffic lights, houses and autumn trees, and a forested mountain slope above the roofs. Other positions look along the rails past the museum roof toward a Revelstoke sign, or zoom in on trains passing the crossing.
