Weather and time

Streetcar rails run down the middle of Lovejoy Street under the trees of the Nob Hill district in Portland, Oregon. Parked cars line both kerbs, and Victorian houses stand behind the branches.

The neighbourhood is also called the Alphabet District, because its cross streets are named in alphabetical order heading north from Burnside. NW 23rd Avenue, two blocks from this frame, carries most of the shops and cafes.

The Portland Streetcar opened along this line in 2001, the first modern streetcar system built in an American city, and it links Nob Hill with the Pearl District and downtown. Cars pass the webcam every fifteen minutes or so through the day.
