I-35 at Craven, Lacy Lakeview Live Cam

Interstate 35 runs north out of the Waco area past the small city of Lacy Lakeview, in the middle of Texas. The camera looks up the carriageways from a bridge with the time burnt into the picture.

A little further north this road does something no other interstate does permanently: it splits into two numbered halves, one through Dallas and one through Fort Worth, which run parallel for a hundred and fifty kilometres before joining again.

The Texas stretch is signed as the Purple Heart Trail. It carries the freight between Mexico and the Midwest, and widening it has been going on somewhere along its length for most of two decades.
