Island Pond, Brighton Live Cam

The junction of Cross Street and Mill Street lies in front of this webcam in Island Pond, a village in northern Vermont. A pickup passes below the lens, and the lake that gives the village its name shows through the trees behind.

Island Pond grew as a railway town on the line between Portland and Montreal, and the tracks still run through it. The lake takes its name from the island in the middle of it, and Brighton State Park on the far shore has camping and swimming.

This is a working village of a few hundred people rather than a resort, and the frame shows ordinary traffic. Snow lies here from November into April.
