Hemingway Home Museum, Florida Live Cam

Ernest Hemingway's house in Key West is a limestone villa from 1851, and the webcam looks over its garden. The cats that live on the property wander through the frame.

About sixty of them are kept here and roughly half have six toes, descended by the museum's account from a cat given to Hemingway by a ship's captain. They are named after film stars and looked after under a federal licence.

He lived here through the 1930s and wrote a good deal of his best-known work in the loft over the yard. The swimming pool, the first on the island, cost so much that he pressed a penny into the wet concrete and told his wife she might as well have his last cent.
