Neon shop signs stack up the building fronts at a crossing in Gangnam, Seoul, and pedestrians cut over the junction well after dark. Bagged rubbish waits at the kerb for the night collection.

This is the meeting of Bongeunsa-ro 2-gil and Gangnam-daero 110-gil, a block of restaurants, bars, clinics and cram schools behind the main avenue. Foot traffic here peaks late, when offices and evening classes empty at once.

Gangnam-gu lies south of the Han River and holds much of the corporate office space of Seoul, along with the COEX complex and the Buddhist temple of Bongeunsa. The live view covers a single crossing in a district of several hundred thousand residents.
