Rali da Madeira Live Cam

This camera covers a stretch of Funchal used as a special stage of the Madeira rally, on the island in the Atlantic. Between events it shows the street and the marina.

The rally has run since 1959 and is among the older asphalt events in Europe. Most of it is fought on mountain roads inland, but one stage is run through the middle of the city on closed roads along the seafront.

Madeira is volcanic and steep, and the roads climb from sea level to fifteen hundred metres within a few kilometres. That is what makes the island a rally venue and what makes the stages hard on brakes.
