Warsaw City, Mazovia Live Cam

This is a rooftop view over the centre of Warsaw, from a webcam mounted high on one of the towers in the middle of the city. The Palace of Culture stands among them.

That palace was a gift from the Soviet Union, finished in 1955 and disliked from the start; it remained the tallest building in Poland until a new tower passed it in 2021. The clocks on its four faces are among the largest in Europe.

The blocks around it went up on ground cleared by the war. Warsaw was largely destroyed in 1944 and rebuilt from the ground, which is why the modern centre is dense and new and the old town two kilometres north is a careful reconstruction.
