Hoofdstraat Street, Epe Live Cam

The Hoofdstraat is the main shopping street of Epe, a small town on the eastern edge of the Veluwe in Gelderland. The camera looks along it from above the shopfronts.

The Veluwe behind the town is the largest area of heath and forest in the Netherlands and one of the biggest lowland nature areas in western Europe, with red deer and wild boar in numbers that have to be managed.

Epe grew on the sandy ground where the heath meets the farmland, and the brooks running off the ridge were used first for watermills and later for trout ponds. About thirty thousand people live in the town and its villages.
