Route 36 at Sosei River, Sapporo Live Cam

A fixed camera looks over the busy junction where Route 36 crosses the Sosei River in central Sapporo, a short walk east of Susukino. The frame shows the turning lanes of a wide crossing, a small riverside garden with railings on the left and tall city buildings behind it.

Route 36, called Tsukisamu-dori within the city, is the main road from central Sapporo toward Chitose, Tomakomai and Muroran. The Sosei River is a narrow, canal-like stream that divides the east and west halves of the city's grid addresses, so the block under the camera is numbered Nishi 1-chome.

Seen from above, the junction shows how traffic queues and turns at one of the main crossings on the edge of the city center, with a corner convenience store and the riverside trees around it.
