Weather and time
This camera watches a bird watering station in the grounds of the council administration centre in Leederville, Perth. A brown metal post holds four water troughs edged with weathered grey boards.
The station is a Cockitrough, a bird waterer developed by the Town of Victoria Park, another Perth council, to give native birds a safe and lasting source of water in built-up areas. Its troughs are sized for large birds such as cockatoos. Leederville is an inner suburb about 3 km north-west of the Perth city centre.
The fixed camera faces the station from close range, so the crossbar troughs at the top and the two lower ones fill much of the frame. Behind them are narrow-leaved shrubs, a mulched bed and a strip of lawn, while a large tree trunk takes up the right edge.
