Rick's & Durty Harry's Bar, Florida Live Cam

The bar takes up a corner of Duval Street in Key West, at the end of the Florida Keys, and the camera looks down on it. Duval runs about two kilometres from one shore of the island to the other.

Key West is nearer Havana than Miami, ninety miles against a hundred and fifty. In 1982 the town answered a road block on the highway by declaring independence as the Conch Republic, surrendering a minute later and applying for foreign aid.

The bar is several bars: a dance floor, a frozen drinks counter and a courtyard under a tree, all under one licence. The street outside is busiest in the hour after sunset, when the crowd comes back from the pier.
