Pattaya Beach Road, Thailand Live Cam

Beach Road runs the length of the bay at Pattaya, with the sand on one side and bars and shops on the other. The webcam looks along the traffic from above the pavement.

Pattaya was a fishing village until American servicemen began coming here on leave from Vietnam in the 1960s. The road took the shape it has now within about fifteen years of that.

The beach itself had nearly disappeared by the 2010s, worn down to a few metres of sand. It was rebuilt by dredging sand from the seabed offshore and pumping it back, which widened it to about thirty-five metres again.
