Thong Sala Street, Surat Thani Live Cam

Thong Sala is the port town of Ko Pha Ngan, and the camera looks along its main street by the entrance to the night market. This is the west coast of the island, in the Gulf of Thailand.

Everything arriving on the island comes through here: the ferries from Surat Thani and Ko Samui, the goods for the shops and most of the visitors. The market beside the camera opens in the late afternoon and runs on into the night.

The full moon parties at Haad Rin, on the southern tip, bring tens of thousands of people to an island of about fifteen thousand residents, and the town empties and refills on that cycle. The interior is forested hills with a national park at the centre.
