Banyan Food Market, Koh Samui Live Cam

The terrace of Banyan Food Market fills this view on Koh Samui, in Surat Thani province in southern Thailand. Wooden tables stand under a roof strung with festoon lights, and the glass wall on the left opens onto the yard with the banyan tree.

The market gathers several kitchens around the old tree, serving Thai dishes alongside food from other cuisines, and the seating is shared rather than split between restaurants. The tree itself is treated as a shrine: people leave offerings at the roots, which is why it was kept when the site was built up.

Tables fill from early evening onwards and the terrace is quiet during the day. Of the Samui cameras here this is the only one under a roof rather than on the sand.
