Sierra Morena, Jaén Live Cam

Dry grass, holm oaks and a low stone wall make up the ground watched by this webcam in the Sierra Morena, in the province of Jaén. The site is Cortijo Gato Clavo, a rural estate inside the natural park in Andalusia.

The Iberian lynx is the animal the camera is set for. Fewer than a hundred were left in the wild at the start of the century, and the Sierra Morena population is one of the two that survived, so sightings on the stream are occasional rather than routine.

Deer, wild boar, foxes and mongooses use the same tracks and appear far more often. Summer heat in this part of Andalusia keeps most movement to the early morning and the hours around dusk.
