Santos Dumont Airport occupies the shore of Guanabara Bay in central Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, below this view. The runway runs along the water, and the Rio-Niterói bridge crosses the bay in the distance behind it.

Santos Dumont handles the shuttle traffic to São Paulo and other domestic routes from a site right at the edge of the business district, with short runways that limit it to narrow-body aircraft. Aprons, hangars and the terminal building take up the foreground, and the hills on the Niterói side close the far shore.

The camera pans and zooms to follow aircraft on final approach over the water. Late afternoon light comes across the bay from the west, and the bridge lights mark the far side after dark.
