Benidorm is the best-known resort of the Costa Blanca, a town of hotel and apartment towers between the mountains and the Mediterranean, north-east of Alicante. Its two long beaches, Levante and Poniente, are divided by the rocky headland of the old town with the Balcón del Mediterráneo viewpoint. The cameras look over Playa de Levante, Playa de Poniente and Avenida de Madrid on the Levante side. The season hardly stops: in winter the town fills with long-stay visitors from northern Europe.
