Highway 109, also signed as State Route 109, runs north from Lebanon toward Gallatin and crosses Interstate 40 at this interchange. Its ramps link the highway with the interstate toward Nashville to the west. The signalized intersection with Eastgate Boulevard and Leeville Pike lies about 400 meters to the north.

Here the freeway itself fills the scene: a second roadway runs behind a concrete wall along the right edge, and trees cover the far embankment. Unlike the Eastgate Boulevard intersection, there are no signals or storefronts in view.
