Giresun Meydan, Giresun Live Cam

The main square and the coast road at Giresun lie below this webcam, on the Black Sea coast of northern Turkey. Traffic circles a monument on the roundabout, and the arched roofs of the covered market stand behind it.

The monument names the town the hazelnut capital, which is not a boast: this coast produces a large share of the world crop, and the harvest in August fills the roads with trucks. The D010 in the frame runs the whole length of the Turkish Black Sea shore.

Giresun Island, a couple of kilometres offshore, is the only sizeable island on this coast. The climate is wet through the year, and the road in view is more often damp than dry.
