Fredericton Live NB, Canada Cam

This camera looks over the middle of Fredericton, the provincial capital of New Brunswick in eastern Canada. The city hall and the square beside it are in the view.

The town was laid out in 1785 by loyalists who left the United States after the revolution, and the grid and the green squares along the river date from that settlement.

It is one of the more heavily wooded cities in the country, with elms along the streets that survived the disease that took most of them elsewhere. The river beside it, the Saint John, freezes hard enough to break up dramatically each spring.
