The grand opening of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque took place on September 23, 2015. The opening ceremony was attended by V.V. Putin, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, R.T. Erdogan, foreign delegations and public figures. Mufti Ravil Gainutdin and leading architects of Russia and Turkey personally participated in the project. The mosque architecture is eclectic and unites Russian and Tatar traditions.
