Haifa District (מחוז חיפה; منطقة حيفا‎) is an administrative district in Israel whose capital is the city of Haifa, the major city in the north of the country and the third largest in Israel. The capital is famed for the outstanding geometric gardens - the Terraces of the Bahá'í Faith, or the Hanging Gardens of Haifa, which surrounds the Shrine of the Báb, a pilgrimage site.
