Live Cams in Lower Saxony
Lower Saxony, Germany
Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen) is a German state, located in the northwest part of the country, bordering the North Sea to the north. The state’s main attractions are the cities’ historic buildings and landmarks combined with the contemporary architecture and cultural lifestyle, as is the case of the state’s capital, Hanover, home to the Maschsee Lake Festival, the largest marksmen’s fun fair in the world, and major cultural events. The cities have traditional features shown in the buildings and in the cityscapes, and are embellished with natural landscapes, as you may watch on the live webcams. Many are also economic centres, as Hanover, Braunschweig, Wolfsburg, Osnabrück, Hildesheim, Salzgitter, Wilhelmshaven and Oldenburg. Seaside locations, as Cuxhaven town and the East Frisian Islands, are also inviting for tourism. On higher altitudes you will find the Harz Mountains, with deep valleys, tiny towns, forests and rushing streams. These mountains were a true inspiration for German folklore: it is known that the Brothers Grimm collected many fairy-tale stories from this region, including Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Hansel and Gretel, the Frog Prince and Rumpelstiltskin.
