Ulitsa Leningradskaya Live Cam

Ulitsa Leningradskaya is a main street in Khabarovsk, the administrative centre of the Russian far east. The camera looks along the traffic and the shopfronts at night.

The city is a long way from anywhere: about 8,500 kilometres from Moscow by rail, seven time zones east, and closer to Beijing, Seoul and Tokyo than to its own capital. It is where the federal district offices sit.

The Trans-Siberian passes through, and the line and the river between them are what put the place here. Winters run to minus twenty and below for weeks, and the streets are laid out wide partly to be cleared of snow.
