Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos Live Cam

Athens International Airport lies across the Mesogeia plain in this long view from the hills, with aircraft parked along the terminal. Olive groves fill the ground in between.

The airport opened in 2001 at Spata and replaced Ellinikon on the coast, which had run out of room. Two parallel runways let it take off and land at the same time, and both are visible from this angle.

Metro and suburban rail run from here to central Athens and the port of Piraeus. The webcam sits several kilometres out, so aircraft read as silhouettes rather than close-ups.
