This city is the terminus of the long network of the Trans-Siberian Railway, which starts in Moscow. The major island of the krai is Russky Island, in Peter the Great Gulf in the Sea of Japan. It is connected to the capital on the mainland via the Russky Bridge, the world's second-longest cable-stayed bridge, and the longest main span with a length of 1,104 metres (3,622 feet). The scenic island is a significant business and education hub and is well known for its excellent beaches, coves, and old military forts. Primorsky Krai is an excellent destination for nature lovers, with stunning mountain and shoreline landscapes, limestone caves, ancient volcanoes, lakes, and mountain rivers.
