The county of Covasna lies in east-central Romania, within the historical region of Transylvania. Covasna covers part of the Eastern Carpathians, offering numerous mountain and ski resorts, with most of the towns and villages beautifully situated in valleys along rivers. The county’s administrative centre is at Sfântu Gheorghe, among the oldest cities in Transylvania. Among the sights in the city are the beautiful riverfronts and landmarks such as the Gothic Fortified Church and Beör Palace in Neoclassical style. You may also visit the Székely National Museum, and numerous magnificent buildings of the 19th century.
