The prefecture’s capital, Aomori, is a port city, being the main port for car ferries to Hokkaido across the Tsugaru Strait. Other major city is Hachinohe recognized for its wonderful seaside on the Tanesashi Coast, the magnificent Kabushima Shrine and Tatehana Wharf Morning Market. The city of Hirosaki is renowned for its cherry blossom scene around Hirosaki Castle.
