Live Cams in Eastern Region

Eastern Region, Iceland

The Eastern Region, or Austurland, covers the east of Iceland, a sparsely populated area of about 11,000 people whose jagged coastline is cut by the Eastfjords. Its largest town, Egilsstaðir, stands on the banks of Lagarfljót, a long, lake-like river where, according to local legend, a serpent-like monster lives. Near the river lie Iceland's largest forest and Hengifoss, at 128 metres one of the country's tallest waterfalls. The fjord town of Seyðisfjörður is the Icelandic port of the Norröna ferry to the Faroe Islands and Denmark.
